Buzzing sound after using Offset Mode on P6X58D-E

Thread Starter
Having just recently learned about Offset mode and its benefits, I got my i7 930 running stable at 4.0GHz with EIST and C1E enabled. However, I hear constant buzzing sound when the processor goes from idle to slight load (where the vcore can go from 1.0v to 1.2v). This stops if I stress test the CPU. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Does it have some long term effect or it is just the noise?

Had this problem with my faulty old motherboard, got a replacement and never had this issue again.
Then again, if all works well and the "buzzing" does not annoy you to the point of RMA'ing your motherboard, dont bother
I only replaced motherboards because of some other issues + it was a pre B3 motherboard so i could exchange it on the spot.

Strange, I narrowed down the problem and it turns out to be the speakers that are making the buzzing sound when I'm idling with C1E on. (AV30s). It doesn't buzz when the CPU is running at 100% load. So I'm guessing the mechnical vibration of my audio card, mobo and CPU resonates with the signal that goes into my speaker causing it to amplify the buzzing sound... Weird. I unplugged the input 3.5mm cable on the front (its connected to my second monitor that's hooked up to the PS3) and the noise went away.

Good to hear that, i guess, i think our problems are entirely different in cause then.
I hope you will be able to resolve it nonetheless.

That actually sounds like interference from something. Make sure Spread Spectrum is disabled in Bios as that can cause static interference sometimes.

All spread spectrum are disabled. I only hear this when it's idling (vcore randomly going frmo 1.0 - 1.2 due to C1E and EIST). I think the speakers amplify the buzzing. I can clearly hear the buzzing if I put my ears near the CPU socket even after I fixed the issue. It is just much quieter and inaudiable without the speaker amplifying it. Weird.
