Headphones and Amp for my new Soundcard?

I recently got a used Auzentech Prelude after hearing a lot of good things about it. I am fairly new to all this fancy Audio stuff, So I just hooked up my current speakers to the prelude. This includes a Pioneer VSX-518 receiver, a ED audio A2-300 Subwoofer, and some old Yamaha speakers.

My family has been complaining of the Subwoofer, so I have decided to get a Headphone setup instead of new speakers.

I listen to "Screamo", dubstep, hardstyle, Any kind of techno-ish music, and Other types of metal/DeathMetal. I need an Amp and headphones for around $500, the cheaper the better. I don't know anything about either headphones or amps, so you will have to direct me on that. Do I need special High Quality cables, or will any wire to connect everything be fine.

Thanks.

I would look into ASUS Xonar series and a pair of Sennheiser headphones. I have a pair of sennheisers and they are great. I also have a xonar sound card but removed it due to a new headset that doesnt support it.

I don't need a sound card. I just need a pointer on what I should be looking for in terms of a headphone amp and a pair of headphones.

The more comfortable the better. I want them to be able to sound really nice, but not in sacrifice of comfort.

What are some good companies that I should be looking at? I know about Sennheiser and Audio-Technica, but what else should I be looking at? And for the amp, What should the ratio for Headphones to Amp?
