$600 computer build

Thread Starter
I need help building a $600 computer. It'll be used for light-gaming. Would it be possible to have 4GB ram, AMD quad core and a decent graphic card computer for around that price? (Including monitor and OS)

I tried
Save some on the psu by going with an eco neo or cx.
Different video card too. 5650? The 9500gt isn't priced well right now.
Also, the 640gb black is better and not much more but I would go for the 500gb F3.
If you're a student you could convert win server 2008 r2 into a workstation for free through dreamspark.

most newegg full system combos use crappy ram, but here is a good one, only the fan is oos

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...t=Combo.634251
$350

add windows/monitor/gpu and you will be just over $600

if you can aquire a copy of windows somewhere else it would be easy

Is it possible? Yes. But you would get alot more bang for your buck in the $700-800 range. Aside from better performance you would get more overclocking room and future expandability.

Anyways, here's what I came up with for $608:

-Lite On DVD burner
-Linkworld mATX case
-Seagate 500GB
-Acer 19" LCD
-Biostar A780L3L
-XFX GT 240
-Antec Earthwatts Green 380W
-Mushkin 4GB 1333Mhz
-Athlon II 640 X4
-Win 7 64bit

That psu is garbage.. I wouldn't let it touch my system.

5670>gts240

This one shows as $64.99 in the list but 69.99 on the product page. You can get it for the lower price if you talk contact them via chat, I've done it before. It also has a MIR.

EDIT again: ****, just saw the rebate on the 240, pretty massive.
