Nook!!! Honeycomb has been hacked on there if that's your cup of tea. Or you can pick from any of hte other hundreds of Gingerbread/Froyo ROMs

The IPS display is also BRILLIANT.

Nook. I bought one when B&N did a nook for $200 brand new sale. I love it. It's a great size, it fits in your pocket. The display is great. With the right rom/kernal, it flies. I game on it more than my phone, and prefer the browsing experience on it over my netbook.

Honeycomb is not yet ready for it. It's available, but it's not great. I ran it for a few weeks, and switched to CM7. However, I expect that to change maybe a week after source drops for honeycomb (hopefully at IO).

If you get one and need help, I'd be happy to.

Also, that's not an Archos. That's an Arnova. It's confusing, because Archos is the company name, but also the name for their "high end" line. The Arnova's are cheap piles of crap. However, I see people switching from archos to nook frequently, with nobody being disappointed in the switch.

If your getting the Nook then wait till May 24th...their next gen one will be out. If they increase the price then I am sure their old gen will be cheaper.

The new one is likely to be an updated E-ink reader that will complement the Color, not replace it

That's what I'm thinking. Besides, most places offer returns within 30 days if they do surprise us.

I wanted one to play around with to see how useful I would find them, and I bought a Coby Kyros 7015A for about $120. It's not the fastest tablet out there and could use more space, but for the price I've found it to be quite nice and very solidly built. I wasn't expecting it to be nearly as good as it is.

Granted, when I get the money together I'll probably go for the Asus Transformer. If you really think it will be more than just a toy for you, I would save your money and get a better one. If you just want something to play around with, look at Coby's line.
