I will try one more time: When did the suicides stop? After they took death benefits away from people who commit suicide. Blame the whole county if you want, but it does suck if dying pays better than working
How does this pertain to the topic at all? It doesn't. So why post it?

News to me.

The Chinese leak cool new stuff all the time.

So it would be Apple getting pissed off (knowing how they are), thus pressuring Foxconn to fire.
At least they are in a better place now. I'd much rather be inside a prison than a foxconn work camp.

Size specs ARE engineering details. Also, how a product looks is also very important.

How many more people have to commit suicide over at Foxconn until Apple decides human lives are equivalent to profits?

First, this has nothing to do with the topic. A worker was arrested; he did NOT kill himself. Second, it looks like you need an education of facts. The Foxconn plant that makes products for Apple pays more, HAD a great family package in the event of a work related death, and a lower suicide rate than the industry standard. Workers were offing themselves because their families would benefit more from the great death reimbursement packages than actually working for their pay. They increased the pay and offered more benefits and installed safety nets. People didn't stop offing themselves until the death reimbursement package was removed. The only reason this became as big as it is as opposed to say other companies is because it is Apple. Considering how blind you are to the reality of the events, I would say the media did a good job of hyping it and blinding people from the entire truth.

I expect to get fired, not arrested.

I am not sure what magical world you live in. If I steal company property, I can expect to not only be fired, but sued and arrested. Maybe in your world of sunflowers and rainbows, companies will pat you on the back and tell you its ok that you stole company secrets, but in the real world things work a bit differently.

I'm sure they'll kill themselves before they get sent to do hard labor, which is no different from what they do now. Hey, at least they'll be fed.

Again, you have no idea how their side of the world works. Have you ever been to the poor areas of Philippines or China? People (including kids) work long hours in oppressive environments, because they have to for their families to survive. This is not Foxconn's fault. This is not Apple's fault. If you want to stay on your high horse and blame something or someone, blame their country's government who stands idle while their citizens suffer and are ripe for ANY corporation to take advantage of.

For your second point, it actually does have value in this topic. Working at foxxcon is not an enjoyable experience. The quality of life is so poor that it causes things like this to happen. Unhappy workers, unhappy results.

This is known as ergonomics. This should really reflect on how poor of a life style foxxcon and apple puts on their production teams.

Sounds about right. Leaking the information probably increased apples sales if anything.

1. Dimensions are different from guts. A one size fits all policy is what I'm complaining about.

2. That's like saying killing yourself so your family collects your insurance (hypothetical since I don't think insurance covers it) is ok because your job isn't great. Your life has to suck, an unimaginable amount for someone to even consider that. It appears theirs did.

3. If you saw what I quoted, it was about breaking an employment contract. If I break an employment contract I get fired. Didn't mention NDAs or theft.

4. I do know how their side of the world works. That's why I don't buy people who use this cheap labor as often as I can. I buy from fair trade businesses as much as possible. So, yes I get to sit on my high horse since I actually contribute to an honest wage for their work. This is Apple's fault for exploiting that country's labor practices for their bottom line. Same applies to any corp. that does this.

That's all I'll say in this thread.
