Seems strange. The devs stated in an interview that the game was able to use 2, 4 and 6 cores and even multi-threaded CPUs

This is mostly noticeable in chapter 2 but if you run through the shop keepers before buying at each chapter you always have the money for the best stuff. Stinks cause I buy once and that is it. Rare reason to return to shop keepers other then to sell. Some economy and items scaling would have done this game some more good.

The more I play TW2, the more I wish that it was more fleshed out. I agree with your assessment of the economy, except I spent a lot of money on lore books my first playthrough, thinking that you'd need them to collect beastie parts like the first game. Turns out they are virtually useless except for 3 contracts. A Witcher is supposed to be an itinerant monster slayer, and yet there are only what, 5 or 6 contracts in the entire game? Some of the game's best creatures you only encounter two or three times! I only got to kill one troll! There's a broad selection of potions that compliment and counter-balance each other, yet almost no incentive to use more a handful of them. I wish the game had massive vistas of creature infested forests and cliffsides that Geralt could wander into and spend hours exploring, killing beasts and searching for rare loot. Unfortunately the plot guides you straight through, and experience is doled out at such a fixed pace that you don't even have to think about it. I really hope the next game has more free-roaming options, a really high level cap, and more varied viable gear options. In other words, make it more of an RPG, CDPR!

All this but not in the next game. Next free DLC, please Or hell, can even pay for proper DLC!

Lol, wouldn't that be a dream come true. Unfortunately our DLC is probably going to be in the same form as The Witcher, those lame little mini-adventures. I just wish CDP Red would go the distance and make The Witcher an open-world game to the extent that you could return to previously visited locations after the credits roll. Not necessarily Skyrim type free-roam, but a reason to play around with your fully customized Geralt without having to re-play the entire game. I hate to b---- about such a great game, but as good as it is, I think it could be even better.

Actually, I was a little off. It appears it's not coded strictly for two cores, it's looks like it's mainly coded for 2 cores, but it can also make some use of a third core, although it doesn't seem to be able to tap the third one out. My bad.

Here's my CPU usage graph with everything on Low, at 640x480, running around the Lower Kaedweni Camp. Notice how combined usage taps out/hovers between the 6th and 7th line on the graph? This means I'm getting around 35% total usage out of my 8 cores/threads.

Doing the math here: .35 * 8 = 2.8 cores. So, basically, it will occupy two cores completely, but it's use of a 3rd core is inconsistent/incomplete.

Geralt is a monster hunter. As in described in the books, and in the games. The world is changing, things are not what they were, monsters do not simply hide behind teeth and claws anymore. When that monster hides behind an army, well geralt has to do quite a bit of human killing to get through.

The ending of the original witcher also points to this.

The witcher is story driven, and it will always be, just because there isnt a quest to kill the drowner, doesnt mean you dont have to kill them, or harpies, golems, etc etc. Plenty of monsters were included in the game and quite killable.

I do not want the story to suffer, it is what makes the witcher such an incredible game. Asking for things out of a game that it was never meant to do is simply be selfish and not respecting the world and the lore and the story the devs have created.

I said it a while ago, this game isn't a full meal for true rpg fans. We'll just have to make do with what we got atm. I don't have much faith on future DLCs after playing through them in the first Witcher.

Wow dude. Really?. Wanting more monster contracts in the game is SELFISH? Wishing that the game world was larger is disrespectful? This is fanboyism at its pinnacle. Believe me, I'm glad that the game is 100% perfect in your mind. That's a good thing - or it would be, if it didn't elicit such an absurd reaction to my opinion. I find the part about "asking for things out of a game that it was never meant to do" particularly mind-boggling, because almost everything that I mentioned in my post IS IN THE GAME. I just want more of it. The only thing that I brought up that isn't currently in the game is the ability to return to the game-world after completing the story-line. And that could easily be done without altering the course of the plot. Just because you don't see how it could be done does not mean that it's impossible.

And FFS the devs did NOT create the lore! Andrzej Sapkowski did. You wanna talk about "respect?" How about showing a little for a) the source material and b) other people's opinions.

Not sure I entirely agree. It sounds like what he's asking for (which, I admit, I'd also like to have seen) is more like a slight change to the mechanics of the game, and an expansion of the world into something larger and more free-roaming.

Considering that TW2 is basically billed as an RPG, it's not unreasonable or disrespectful for one to wish that the game wasn't missing some elements that most people would consider a 'standard' for an RPG ... having 'optional' areas/dungeons where one can go and grind and loot and such ... that's not asking for a big change, that's asking for normal RPG stuff.

To me, this does not seem mutually exclusive w/the developers 'vision' in terms of the story and the lore and such. With people nowadays acclimated to massive RPG's like Diablo, WoW, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, etc ... it's not surprising that people would find the 'RPG' elements of TW2 to be lacking. Cause let's face it ... they are lacking.

Still a great game and everything, but ... the parts that are missing from the traditional RPG experience ... are pretty glaring.
