Clean out the old with driver sweeper in safe mode before you install the new.

That's a known issue with 275.33 unfortunately. You'll have to wait until the next driver release.

A single 6950 1GB bottlenecked by a 2500k @ 4.5 is not gonna happen.
Per what I said, anything between 50% and 75% could initiate a CPU bottleneck, IMHO.

Also, you can't just look at hardware and proclaim that a CPU bottleneck is 'not gonna happen' (like, ever). Because BN's always depend on the application, and the settings at which you run that application ... as well as the hardware.

Like I said, if it was the bottleneck the cores available to the game would be maxed, that happened with my old Phenom II so I have experienced it and know what to look for. This is not the case atm...

Either way, I'm not the one who claimed that I thought I had a bottleneck, someone else did, so not sure why everyone is trying to prove me wrong.
I'm not asking you to 'buy' anything

If you go back and read what I said, you'll discover that I did NOT ever tell you that your CPU was bottlenecking you in TW2. You said it was NOT, and I asked you what the proof/testing methodology was that allowed you to determine that it was not.

But I would point out that just because a game can use up to three cores does not mean that it will always use 3 cores in full before frames start to bottleneck.

Bottom-line, what I'm trying to express to you here is that CPU usage is not a reliable indicator of NOT being CPU-bottlenecked. If your CPU usage is slammed at 100%, then it is a good indicator that you ARE ... but being less than 100% (or even being at less than 75% on a 'up to 3 core' game) doesn't mean that you are not experiencing it.

I'd say if at any point you (or anyone else w/4 cores available) are at over 50% CPU usage, a possibility exists that you are getting some CPU BN'ing, because it appears to me that this game cannot consistently and fully make use of 3 cores. 2 cores, for sure it can 'fill up'. But I believe that a CPU BN can kick in between 50% and 75% total usage (on a quad).

Again, I'm not saying that you ARE experiencing some CPU BN'ing, rather, I was trying to determine your logic/testing methodology in making the statement that you made.

I pretty much know that I am getting some CPU BN'ing with my rig at the settings I'm playing at, in certain parts of the game. But you have less card, more proc, and are not running multi-gpu (which adds CPU overhead) so ... you may well not be. I just wanted to know why you felt so sure

That author is totally wrong when he says Witcher 2 'isn't CPU-dependent' (I even commented over on that article about it ). All you have to do is look at the graphs posted above showing the large disparity in performance between different CPU's to know that it clearly is greatly affected by the power of the CPU ... and we aren't talking about seeing differences in perf at 200fps, we're looking at differences in the 60fps range when comparing pretty high-end procs. This game is HIGHLY CPU-dependent.

Obviously I will not go trough all 100 pages, I hope this wasnt mentioned and discussed but I just need to share, because the thread I was talking about it was deleted. I gave my opinion about the controls when the 1st gameplay footage appeared. I feared they gonna brake what almost works great. So I was right, well not really because I like the Witcher 2 controls except one thing, they were taken from Fable lost chapters. Same block, same attacks even magic and special item box at the bottom screen, I almost thought Gerald was going to fart if I press F1, but he didnt, what a relieve. Dont get me wrong here, I love the game, controls are nice and work well, but witcher 1 controls were so perfect for this game with the 3 styles.

Does anyone know where I can get some mods for TW2? I remember seeing a link for the wiki but can't find it.

Also anyone have any recommendations for mods? Not looking for any overpowering ones it anything like that. But would like to find the no weight one

Anyone notice these glitches before? Not sure if they were mentioned already, but beings the thread is pretty big, didn't see it. Not game stopping, but could be fixed...

After my fist encounter with the kingslayer near the end of Act 1, I went back into Flotsam and a riot had broke out, the town was burning, people were fighting and the execution stand for the hangins was pretty much destroyed. After doing my "Find Triss" part of the quest, I left Flotsam to speak to Iorveth, then went back into Flotsam to speak with Roche and the town was normal...it's like the riot never took place. Just seemed like the mood of the game switched for me because of that glitch.

Also, are the controls laggy, or is it just me. Sometimes I have to click a few times during combat to get something going, even when I stand still for a bit. Sometimes, nothing works besides running (cannot cast spell, attack, throw bomb, or even go to inventory screen), petty much till I get hit by an enemy, then all the controls work again. Plus the camera doesn't rotate properly when that happens also.
