Personally, i feel that he is alvin. he teleported into the past. Without any guidance from people he knew, what geralt taught him was twisted into into what the grand master believed. The things you say to alvin are reflected in the grand masters speeches, they change according to how you teach him.

Alvin also quotes the coming ice age. Which the grand master shows you what it looks like. The king of the wild hunt says you know the grandmaster by another name. The grandmaster saves your life, and says that you are even. You save alvins life from the devourer. The grandmaster doesnt want to kill geralt, merely convince him, which shows that he cares about geralt, something that he wouldnt do had it not known him.

Alvin is racist from the start, he likes to play kill the elf, and he plays the grand master and wins, (most of the time). That explains why the grand master doesnt care about killing nonhumans. But it also explains why witchers are allowed in the Order. To everyone else, the witcher is an outcast and not human anymore. But an order that hates nonhumans allows witchers? Odd wouldnt you say.

I believe that The grandmaster sent salamandra to catch alvin and keep him out of harms way. Which is why shani, atleast in my playthrough was able to kick one of them in the balls and the rest did not attack or rape her. They were told to capture the kid, and not to harm shani, as she took care of him and treated him well.

I dont think the grand master tells geralt he is alvin, because that is his one weakness. Geralt could kill alvin as a child and ruin his plans, as he believes that geralt doesnt pose a threat to him as an adult.

Then of course you have the aged amulet.

I am interested in how far back in time he went. What happen to him. Is it his only time going back in time. Say he only went back 20 years. That would allow him grow up, and learn what is happening in the world, and possibly plan the entire thing, then teleport back in time and instigate his plan by working his way to grand master over the next 20 years.

Now wrap your head around that. Then this. Geralt died 5 years before the start of the game. so for all Alvin/grand master knows, is that the witcher isnt a wild card. He could have plained for everything that happen in the first trip through time. But during his second trip where he is putting it into action. Someone brings Geralt back from the dead to stop the entire plan. That starts the game. WHOA. Thats what i think. Pure speculation though.

this also means that we could meet the young alvin in the witcher 2, but also not know him because he changed his name.
