3GB 580, Palit or Gainward? Waterblocks?

Which one has better Warranty?

Main question is which one?

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...cPath=193_1170

Then which waterblocks fit?

http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/bl...c&limit=30&p=2

Will they be single slot with weaterblocks on?(with a single slot bracket, also from EK?

http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/ek...t-geforce.html

Thanks Sir Overkill.

According to that site, they both have a 2yr warranty. It'd almost be a shame to WC that Gainward one, it is so good looking.

It seems that they have blocks that fit, but try their config tool: http://www.coolingconfigurator.com

It may be a single slot with WB, but I believe it is just a little over, like a 1.25 slot thick.

Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I ment like which warranty is better in terms of letting you use waterblocks...

Also does anyone know if its any harder putting waterblocks on the 3GB version then the normal ones?

Thanks, Sir Overkill.

You will need to get the EK 580 GW waterblock. Its for non-reference cards;

http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/ek...-nickel-1.html

As to Palit or Gainward? Doesn't matter. AFAIK neither cover water cooling under warranty, so just get the Gainward since its in stock and the same price as the Palit

How hard would it be from someone who never has put any Waterblcoks on a Graphics Card?

It isn't that hard, when i first did it to my gtx470 i just took my time, looked at the card, seen were everything went. The thermal tape is esay to put on, just cut a bit off the size you need and place it over area that needs it. I found it best to have the block on a small box and place the card ontop of it when fitting it.

If you're going to add watercooling, the EVGA would likely be a better choice than the Palit, as changing the cooling won't void your warranty automatically. My Palit cards each came with a little sticker over one of the screws that hold the cooler on - removing it/changing the cooling breaks the warranty. Looks like the 580/3GB is the same -

Looks like the Gainward has the same sticker, which makes sense since Palit/Gainward are related.

IT'd be a shame to destroy the cooler on the Phantom...

If the EVGA doesnt void warranty by removing the cooler, i'd say go with that one, otherwise, make sure you run the card for a good while, or until your satisfied it doesnt have any faults, because after the cooler comes off the Gainward/Palit, its bye bye warranty!
