Is it true that less ram sticks = higher oc?

The only explanation for that would be less ram sticks means more airflow around each stick. But really once you get up to the 1600 mhz range, OC-ing is pointless since no app will actually take advantage of the speed boost. Some magazine or site tested out 1333 vs 1600 vs 2000 and it was all pretty much the same.

Edit: Found it: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/mem...0_7.html#sect0

"Well, you shouldn’t be disappointed if you don’t find DDR3-2000 modules compatible with the Phenom II X6 as the performance benefits of such memory over DDR3-1600 only amount to 1-2% while memory kits like the G.Skill F3-16000CL7D-4GBFLS are some 50% more expensive."

c2 cpu can only oc 2 dimms (3-4 will be limited to 1333)
c3 or e0 can handle 4 dimms at any speed

bump the CPU-NB voltage up a touch and that will sort any 4 dimm stability issues.
