Here's some advice. Your motherboard came with a manual. Get it out and READ IT. It explains all of the options when it comes to raid on your board.

And I have looked at it earlier and read that it states I can do RAID 0,1,5 and 10 with the Intel P67 Sata III conectors( and there are only two of them on this mobo)... I am no RAID expert by any means... but RAID 0 or RAID 1 can be done with only two HDDs RAID 5 and RAID 10 requires more... Hence I am asking if any others have attempted this before I do so, and what advice they have to give... Heck for all I know it might be a technical mistake on Asus' part, when it comes to the manual

Last time I checked, an AM2+ board can't have an Intel P67 controller.

EDIT:
Assuming its obviously a P67 board, my Asus has 4 Intel RAID ports, 2 Marvell ports (I'm assuming SATA III), and 2 other ones (forget the name). If yours ONLY has 4 ports, and it claims RAID5 and 10, then clearly those 4 are all RAID capable.

I am building a Sandybridge build and am trying to build the fastest yet stable storage and application system i can...

I have a vertex 3 120GB for the OS drive... I want to have 3 F3 spinpoints in RAID 5 and two intel 80GB in Raid 0 for my steam games...just running out of sata ports...I dont wish to use ANY SSD in the marvel ports since TRIM is not supported on it... the OS drive on the Intel sataIII port...two sataII for the intel SSDs and two sataII and one intel sataIII for the Raid 5... will use the marvel control port for dvd burner...

So EXACTLY which motherboard are you using? That would help instead of making us work with no information forcing us to guess.

The manual seems very clear to me. You can setup a raid array on the 2 SATA3 ports (the white ones), you can setup a raid array on the 4 SATA2 ports (the light blue ones), or you can setup two different raid arrays (one on each of the two sets of ports). What you can't do is setup a Raid array on the Marvel ports (navy blue ones) or combine the white and light blue ports into the same array.

Since everyone is on the subject i thought id hijack and ask a quick question about short stroking. When creating a RAID with two physical Drives and splitting these drives into 2 Logical Volumes like one is to be RAID 0 one RAID 1 , if when i reduce the capacity on the first RAID 0 setup does that automatically take from the beginning of the plate, hence short stroking it?

No. When you shrink the volume it takes it from the end (or slowest part of the platter). That is short stroking it though.

Ok so for ex. i got two hard drives one is 640gb one is 1.5tb on my first Volume i create RAID 0 and dedicate 200gb to that for apps , next i create a RAID 1 and what's left over is 500gb. So would my RAID 0 Volume be the slowest part then or fastest? Or is the best route making one Volume and partitioning in Windows.
