questions on atcs 840

Thread Starter
how is the build quality compared to say a corsair?

is the bundled 230mm fan good? any good alternative 230mm fans?

what other sizes of fan can I fit in the front 230mm fan slot? Do you think I can squeeze 4x 120mm fans in the front 230mm fan slot? (I will be removing hdd cage if I can)

Can you remove the hdd cage?

If I remove the HDD cage, can I still install the 2 120mm fans behind the 230mm fan ? (the fans behind the drive cage)

Is it entirely aluminum or partially? (I might wanna powdercoat the interior black)

Any news on the "next gen" atcs case?

the 230mm fans on the top and bottom are very high quality and quiet, but they don't spin very fast at all. I don't think you can squeeze 4x120 in the front, you would have to cut some of the case. you can fit a 3x120mm at the top though.

also the side panels are fairly thin but the brushed aluminum is very nice.

But can you remove the HDD cage? When I remove the HDD cage, can I still install the 2 120mm fans? And how thick of a rad (360 rad) can I fit on top?

No you can't remove the harddrive cage. No idea if you can install the 120mm fans as there arent any screw holes.

You could fit any rad on top. I fit push/pull H50 with tonnes of clearance left before my motherboard in there.

If you really wanted the hdd cage out you could do it but it will require some work and painting probably if you mark it. As for changing the 230mm fan I suppose you could but again will require some work and I am not sure how many you could fit in the in-front. If you decide to get a thickish rad for the top you can only to push or pull not both. I have tried that with my 240 feser xchanger rad to see if it worked out and it did not as the top removable tray bar that holds the cards slots. You could to push/pull if you get something like a black ice gt sleath 360
Black Ice GT Stealth 360

Here is an offical club link to the atcs where people have posted what they have some and fixed some issues.
