ASUS 1GB GTS 250 SLI Vs ASUS 9800GX2

Hi, These cards seem to be very close in specs + i understand the 9800GX2 is the better of the two, but would GTS 1GB 250 "SLI" be better than 9800GX2 in performance wise?

Note: I've tried online GPU comprison but can't fine anything for SLI.

They are essentially the same card but with a die shrink. The gts 250 sli should be a little faster though due to the higher clocks and more vram.

yea i believe the 250 sli should perform slightly better... plus the 9800gx2 runs super hot.

Thank's & yeah it's sounds like common sence, but the 9800GX2 was pretty exe when i brought it, + it looks like a monster compared to the GTS 250.lol

Yeah 9800GX2 do run very hot, i've given it new paste & always run rivertuner & 100% fan speed.

250s will be faster especially with 1GB.......i've put two 8800GTS 512s clocked to 770MHz against a GX2 @ 700MHz.......about 5FPS difference in Warhead.....and the temp difference was GX2 90C and GTS SLI 72C.....GTS SLI is quiter too

Welll, it depends on your needs.

While 2 GTS 250's in SLI are slightly faster than a 9800GX2, you could save space by using the 9800GX2, I don't thing the performance difference is that big, but I'm not sure on that one.

Raw performance = 2x GTS 250 in SLI
Performance and space = 9800GX2

I'm actually using one of 250's ATM for PhysX & my son has the 9800GX2 in his PC, i'm after "Raw performace" for him.
