Question of "core" ethics.

So I have a marketplace-ish question to ask you guys...It's an ethical dilemma I'm having.

My work PC blew out around the beginning of April...I was running a 980x (Batch A), one day it gave up so, I sent in for an RMA and was accepted.

In an effort to find a chip similar (I knew I'd be receiving batch F in return) I bought a chip off of a user.

The user was selling multiple 980x's (2x Batch F's, 1x Batch B), 1 was the batch I needed.

So, we bartered for a day or so over PM's...1 of the requirements of the company is that I get an original invoice, I stated this, he said he'd work on it...We were off.

I recieved the core on about April 22nd or so....The seller sends me the correct box, the incorrect core (F batch) and no invoice.

I then alert him to his mistake, he offers a full refund BUT, I haven't had my work PC for 2 weeks already...I said I'd see how it goes. This was MY decision but, I also requested a refund of the difference (50$).

I also required an invoice AND the original box...I made this very clear...Because of his mistake, I'd absolutely require both.

The OTHER core (B batch) was sent to military personell...The box/anything will only be retrievable after May 10th.

After the 22nd of April, I've been through 3 sets of ram and 3 Evga Classified 3 770mb's with no real explanation as to why...They've fried out with FULL waterblocks on them, just died out of thin air so, I saught assistance from upper level EVGA tech support.

EVGA is stumped, upper level support is stumped and the board developers, are stumped.

I've since discovered it's the core...There's no other explanation or variable that has changed.

In my opinion, the core NEEDS to be RMA'd but, I've since recieved no invoice, still don't have the original box and have now fried over 1000$ worth of hardware...I'm really done with the whole situation.

Today, I requested a full refund immediately, said that I'd eat the shipping and that I was returning the core immediately.

My question is an ethical one: Do I have the right to request a full refund considering not a single thing I've yet paid for has been recieved (with the exception of the box)?

Didn't know where else to post this and wanted some opinions...No names...Not calling anyone out, asking a question of ethics.

You can still print out card payments and to whom. So that might be something of use. Otherwise, I'm not so sure. Depends on WHO you get to talk to.

Was a paypal executive account that the payment came from...

Not asking a question of if I will/won't get my $$$$ back, it's coming from a business so, more than likely I will...

I'm asking morally, is requesting a full refund ethically in the right?

Full refund? Without Ã* doubt. At the expense of your lost time and for the pure sake of proffesionalism(sp?)
