+1

Plus smeting else:

If you a SLI in sandybridge at 8x/8x it will have the same performance as x16/x16 and also Trichannel-quadchannel is just a gimmick there is no performance benefit compared to a dual channel memory solution.

So what gives. just more core per core speed, eventually ivybridge will let the x79 enthusiast chipset alot less atractive.

It blows my mind to see how technology can't progress beyond Sata II and USB 2.0 - even while the newer standards are backwards compatible!!! It's one thing on a mainstream chipset like P67, but come on - X79?!

Ivy is the die shrink for SB and SB-e and will be on both LGA 1155 and LGA 2011

its a shame they have not dropped a 32nm chip into the x58 that oc well and has the new IMC.

its coming to something when i setup half the price is killing the x58 all over the board.

we know theres loads of life left in x58 and intel just want to kill it to make people buy new Mbs.

its like intel are thinking ahhh we can make big monies off chips lets rape the chipset market aswell

its a joke..

intel could drop a 8 core into a x58 nps and it would be beast. but then they don't sell new chipsets.

FAIL INTEL

Yes. 14 SATA ports are on that chipset, 10 of those 6Gbps capable, 8 of those SAS-capable. Full details:
