ASRock 890FX Deluxe 5

Thread Starter
Does anyone really know anything about this board? I am looking to purchase it as a few others have seen. But there is only one review out there. What are your thoughts? Do you think it will be a better board than the MSi 890FXA-GD70? (mine died) Sorry if some think this is a repost, just looking for more opinions before sinking another $180 into another MoBo.
its a GREAT board and its am3+ ready so you can upgrade to bulldozer...it should be a worthy replacement to your GD70

It's too late in the game to buy an 8 series chipset board IMO. RMA your GD70, then when the real AM3+ boards come out with the 9 series chipsets, buy one of those and sell your GD70.

THE BD/990 is not an issue for me as I just bought my 1090t less than 2 months ago. I already sent my GD70 in for a full refund. Anything else about this board that anyone knows. This will be my first ASRock board if I decide to purchase it. Here are the reasons I am looking at this board:

PCIe Spacing (I have 2 hd6950 directcu ii cards)
8+2 phase power
Color Scheme smile.gif (fits the rest of my components)

I am looking for a board that is stable and can handle some serious overclocking. I wa not able to get over 4.0 stable on my GD70.

Any other opinions?

The ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 is the closest thing for your needs but the ASrock deluxe 5 is worth the extra 5 bucks over it.
the asus doesnt have right angel SATA (the DCII cards will cover these) and has 1 less pci-e physical 16x. Also, I personally dont like the brown Asus PCB (but thats just my oppinion) The Deluxe5 is just a better deal

ASRock is great! I currently use a P67 Extreme4, and loving it.

The Deluxe5 is a really great board. Have never had problems with ASRock, so as quality goes, they rock too!

You'll have quite the advantages from that board, so I'd go for it smile.gif

AsRock really cleaned up their act. I would not hesitate to get any of their P67 boards or AM3 ones. Fair amount of power phases, great expansion layouts, onboard power/reset/ POST code readouts, and to top it off you get some sexy gold capacitors.

Go with the 890FX Deluxe5 smile.gif
