2500k with Asrock P67 Extreme4 overclocking

Thread Starter
I just got my build installed and everything running and started overclocking but I've a few questions about my overclock.

Is this looking good so far?

I noticed just yet that core #0 is like 8c lower than the other 3 cores, is this normal?
And when I started prime the temps went to like 61-63c but now it its jumping between 56c and 63c but core #0 is definately 8c lower why?

Also I disabled all the C1E, c3, c6 and power saving options in the BIOS.
I used Offset voltage something like 0,011 I don't remember but my CPU voltage is at 1,46 when I boot, that's what CPU-z is showing. Pretty high right? But it makes a huge drop to 1,4 when I start prime.
Also PLL voltage 1,7 is that good?

When I ran prime95 it dropped to 1.40 - 1.41 and it seems pretty stable so far, it has been running for like 15 minutes now.

Can anyone give me suggestion's on this overclock?

resit your heatsink and apply your thermal compound again. And make sure that your Heatsink is not lose, means the heatsink don't lose contact with the CPU.

Why? If core #0 would be 8c higher I would say yes but its lower..

Try like -0.010 offset. Also disabling c1e etc seems to make OCs unstable.
PLL voltage 1.7xx should work too. And remember to check dram settings in bios

Yeah my RAM was running on 1333MHz default so I switched that to 1600mhz and 9-9-9-27, thats fine right? Voltage is still default like 1,59 it said in BIOS.

EDIT:
On the kingston website it says my memory should be at 1,65voltage should I leave it on here or set at 1,65?

At idle yes. But it has worked great for me. Upto 5.0. But we have different CPUs so it could vary. You can always try let me know if it works

it could also mean that heat is conducted from core#0 better compared to the others, it could mean that a little air is trapped between the other cores with the heatsink, means the heatsink isn't placed well or isn't tight. it's always worth the try.

Its normal to have one core thats different from the rest. one of mine is 7c hotter than the rest. it should be fine, if your other core was losing contact with the heatsink you would notice way more than a 8c diff.
