Yet another "worse crossfire performance" thread. - Page 2

Wow, lot of responses. Thanks, guys.

I'll try updating the drivers when I get home. I've done both types of driver installs:

Uninstall, wipe clean with driver sweeper in safe mode, install. I've also done the install over existing method. I haven't seen any difference in performance with either.

I've noticed somewhat lower performance in pretty much all my games, it's just REALLY apparent in those 2. I play everything from BC2, Borderlands, Far Cry 2, GTA IV, Shift 2, F1, Metro 2033,etc., etc.

Unfortunately, no. Those are the 16x slots. The others are 8x.

If there's space drop a card down to an 8x slot, there's literally zero difference in 16/16x vs 16x/8x.

The lower slot would extend the card past my available case slots, so the card wouldn't work there. The first 8x slot is covered by the first card.

I'd separate them and run them in 16x/8x as well.

They make this product called a dremel, and you don't need to use the ports on the 2nd card so if there's no interference no bigggy.

And again, 72C max if freaking gooooood temp wise.

It is either the drivers or the game. You should really update the drivers first and see how that helps. If it does not help very much then you will just have to deal with it because some games have TERRIBLE support for dual GPUs. This is why I will never buy a dual GPU card or use more than 2 cards in SLI if I even decide to do that.
