Lol...if this case wasn't so hard to find, I might take a dremel to it, but I'm pretty bad at cutting pretty much anything so I'll hold off for now.

Alright, well, first order will be updating the drivers. I'll report on the results.

Run the new driver 11.3/11.4/etc and choose uninstall, don't reboot. Go to control panel and uninstall all the amd stuff. Reboot, then run the install again, reboot yet again, profit...!

Hi,

Just registered to post my 'experiences' with Crossfire 5770's which I've had for about 9 months now.

Most importantly, do you have the latest CCC application profiles installed? App profiles configure CCC to run correctly with certain titles. Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs!

The titles you mention, F1 and Shift 2, both had no Crossfire support at launch (like pretty much every other PC game atm). F1 got patched a while back (when they did the dx11 patch) so should now run flawlessly. Is it a steam copy of F1? As it'll have updated automatically, if not, patch it! F1 should then run like butter (great game!). Having the latest CCC (11.4) and the latest application profiles will definitely (lol) fix it if nothing else does. NB App profiles contain all previous title releases so you only need the latest one. There's already a comment on uninstalling and installing ccc so I won't reiterate.

11.4 haven't been the greatest drivers for me but see how you get on, 11.3 might be an option and should still fix your issues.

Shift 2 is just broken. Apparently the game doesn't like Alternate Frame Rending which Crossfire uses so you basically can't utilise a second (or third) GPU with the game, yet. The latest ccc app profiles fixed a lot of texture issues with the game, but AMD are saying EA need to fix the game before it'll work multiGPU. gutted

http://www.rage3d.com/cap/

Rage 3D is a really good place to keep up to date with app profiles, they come out here before they appear on the official AMD site. Follow Catalyst Creator/Maker on twitter too, they comment on title specific profiles as they build them. There's also good advice on there on best practice when updating drivers, etc.

Good luck, hope something in here helps.

AMD states this in the CAP:

Need for Speed Shift 2 – resolves negative CrossFire scaling

It 'should' help resolve that issue in that particular game.

Unfortunately the CAP simply disables crossfire for now.
