Ok so the deal is I built my rig about 3 years ago and it is the following Q9650 @ 3.6ghz (megatron cooler) OCZ ram 4 gig EVGA 790i ultra sli 1 tb western digital hdd and a GTX285 BFG OC edition. Corsair 750W ps

I am thinking about upgrades

The Graphics card is fine in my opinion anyway,

Motherboard is quite dated as is the ram maybe a ssd? what do you think?

depends how much you are willing to spend really and what you plan to use the computer for.

Everything in your computer right now is not too terribly dated imo. You could just ride it out until the end of the year and think about upgrading then. Since it has been 3 years since your last computer you can spend some money and get a whole new computer with socket 2011 if you want.

Other than that you would need to tell us what you are using the computer for and how much you are willing to spend before we can really help out.

Money isnt a huge issue, i use the computer mostly for gaming. I wouldnt want to spend more than 5 or 6 hundred but i am in no rush if there is some good new tech coming along

I would wait until the end of the year when Intel releases socket LGA 2011. Then you can splooge on a whole new computer and really have a beast on your hands!
