Considering water cooling - Page 2

Ok well as for the Rasa kits, in them everything is top notch except for the pump, so if you wanted you could go for a 240 rasa kit, fit the rad to the back and then upgrade it later on.

I just had a look at the 1200 as a water cooling case, and I have to say, it's kinda terrible lol. That said there's still room to work, now a 360 rad has about 43000mm2 cross sectional surface area, a 200mm rad obviously has around 40,000mm2, so you could put something like this:

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...pid-11843.html

Into the top of the case, that alongside a 240 will provide a frankly huge amount of cooling, especially since they'll both be outputs and you have a fairly decent airflow in the case.

Also, another point against the rasa kit, I believe you only have 3 x 5 1/4" (correct me if I'm wrong) bays, the pump/res will take up two of those on it's own. Which I know for me at least would be an issue.

As for a replacement pump, most pumps will do, the Swiftech pumps are generally considered very good, I have an MCP35x, which is a DCC pump. But my DCC-1plus T has served me very well for much longer than I've had the 35x.

Long and short of it, I would recommend any of the Swiftech pumps: MCP350, MCP355, MCP35x(has PWM options for speed control) or the D5 pumps, the MPC655 and 655-B(cheaper without speed control).

The best bang for buck of those is probably the MCP355.

So the Rasa kit is good in quality?
The radiator is high end mid or low end?
I could fit that 200^2mm rad, with a little modding, then I could fit a 240mm normal rad at the back, even 360mm but it would be sticking out a little.
Like you said the big 200mm thingy is better than a 360mm (by 120mm) radiator, do you think one big and a 240mm rad would be enough to cool 2 GPUs and 1 CPU?
Assuming I'd get the Rasa RX240?
This way I could cool 1 CPU and GPU now (right?), and if I need more cooling power and a stronger pump for 2 GPUs, I can just get a stronger pump + that 200mm square rad?
Sounds good?
Edit:
The pump/res in the rasa kit only takes 2 5½" drive bays, I have 2 free, and all my fans have knobs for control I never use them anyway. So it's fine.
Also:
Quote:
13 drive bays
- External 3 x 5.25"; Internal 9 x 3.5" for HDD, or
- External 6 x 5.25"; Internal 6 x 3.5" for HDD, or
- External 9 x 5.25"; Internal 3 x 3.5" for HDD or
- External 12 x 5.25 for HDD
- Internal 1 x 2.5" SSD bottom mount also included
So it's not a problem at all. (I could remove the cages and have 12x5½" bays
But like I said the pump/reservoir only takes 2 5½" bays, which I have free at my current configuration anyway.

I also noticed this in the features list:
Quote:
- Compatible w/ Antec’s 200mm Radiator (designed exclusively for the Twelve Hundred)
I'd have to check some reviews, but it seems the case isn't that bad after all, there's plenty of extra room on the top to fit a really fat radiator there (internally), and it being better than a standard 360 rad, I think the case it actually pretty good.
By the way, how long will these rads last? forever?

A little bump and another question.
Are there any other equally good or better "ready kits" other than the XSPC Rasa kits?
I was also wondering if I need to get after market fans for the radiator and whether the RX240 kit would be able to cool an overclocked CPU and GPU?
