Having problems with my 3 year old build....any help would be greatly appreciated! - Page 3

Well I was looking at test results and really for the price I paid it would have been one that performed worse than the one I currently have. I am really not sure if it's the video card causing my problems either.

My first guess would be the GX2. Don't alot of them die from heat issues?

Run the typical gang of stress tests like P95 Blend (4 hours), OCCT (60 mins) and watch your temps.

If no probs, then run Rurmark fullscreen with high FSAA/Aniso and see if there are problems with your GPU. I'd bet it's your GX2.

Well after what I did with my GX2 I dropped the idle temps from 70-75 down to 55-60 now. New Thermal compound and no case on it. But still getting lag in games and temps are fine. :/

Did this problem instantly show up or did it slowly start getting worse?

Have you checked Event Log for any error codes to go with the beeps?

Does it run normal on some games?

It sounds like a hardware issue to me.

Battlefield 2 I can run high on everything. BC2, I have to run low, and Call of Duty lags at 1920x1200. And got worse the more I played. I checked the temps on everything and it was in the 80s for the GPUs and processors 40s.

Problem is the beeps are new, locks ups are new, and the games are somewhat new. :/

Has it ever played BC2 okay? Yes when I first got it. I could run Med-High.

The fans are an investment to the current case I have which can be used when I upgrade. So not really wasting money.

Well finally some results....... To sum it up, I no longer lag in BC2 or Black ops with everything on MAXIMUM at 1920x1200! Damn I am happy! Not a bad OC for my setup and test results right?

Installed my new VisionTek 6970 ATI card today, and installed the latest drivers.

Here is what I am getting as a 3dmark11 after the video card install. Never could test it before because it only supports Directx 11.

And a 3dmark Vantage test. This test was 10100 before the install.

Then I decided what the hell and OC'd my cpu and memory. After testing it for stability, I found a stable frequency. Here is what it tested with 3dmark11 and Vantage.

Here are what my settings now with the OC for a Q8300 2.5ghz Quad Core...
