New Headset Advice

Thread Starter
Well I will be getting a new headset since my Creative Fatal1ty MKII has broken and was wondering the opinion of the OCN community on a good pair. Now this headset wont be just for gaming as I will be playing SC2 mainly but I normally have music over the game sounds anyway. But I would like it so when and if I do play some campaign of a new game the booms from guns, explosions, grenades,ect.. are very clear and deep.

My price range is that I'm trying to stay below $100 but I can go over if its really needed for a nice headset.

I have been eyeing the TRITTON AX51 Pro on newegg and from what I see I might buy it, but whats all your opinion on it audio guys, good, bad ugly, ect

I don't want my headset to turn out how mine is not broken and wasn't the best.

I use my headset for the same exact purpose; sc2 with music playing rather than sound effects or I have skype open with friends. I have a Razer Carcharias (bought before I joined OCN, dont hate) and I like it a lot.

Thats not to say there arent better options, but it definitely is an option and its well under the $100 price limit you mentioned.

Astro A40s with mixamp... out of your price range sure... worth it... definitely IMO

The Logitech G930's are pretty balanced in all of that IMO, their wireless but I don't get any lag and sound quality is about 8/10 for me I also heard a lot of good from the Razer Carcharias and they are in your price range.

I will look into those. My cousin has the bigger brother so I have used them essentially. Not the comfiest headset in my opinion but pretty good.

You don't know how much I want to do this, honestly I would love to but since I'm only a student its not in the budget =[.

I will look into the G930's a bit to.

Anyone else have anything to add? I really want the best headset I can get for now.

A clip on mic is fine I just to make sure I buy right. And not have to be stuck with a piece a crap for a while .

My vote goes to the Logitech G930. Just bought these a week ago and have no complaints. I love the buttons on the ear phone and the volume control. Great features. Not to mention its wireless

I'd recommend Audio Technica AD700s or Sennheiser HD555s + a Zalman mic.

I have a set of HD555's and they are okay. I say the logitech blows them out of the water though. My HD555 are now in storage after getting the G930. Don't get me wrong, they are great headphones.
