Ive found in a closed case all of them are about the same. Within 1C, that is unless you are using tin foil and gum or something.

I upgraded my CPU in between, hence the stock TIM change.....

But, Dont you guys think 1.44 vcore on a E7500 maxing out at 88C is a bit too much?

Agreed. Ever thought of the res mod for the H50?
Plus, youre using AS5 (or some other TIM..), so you should have some left/shouldnt be expensive to purchase more. How about lapping it?

Res Mod is out of the question because i'm really clueless when it comes to water cooling....I've never lapped a heatsink or CPU ever.! Should i RMA my h50?

I got my H50 the month it came out on Newegg. Last month I RMA'd it because my idle temp was around 48C on my Q6600. I figured it was drying up or something. Now with my new one, my idle temp at this moment is 33C, and my room is around the same temperature when I had my old H50. So I guess it is possible for it to dry up, I'm not sure if that was my exact case, but something was different between my old one and my new one.

I also checked the case and my comp components for any type of residue that may have been caused by a leak and couldn't find one.

swiftech res, I'm not going to reseat the cpu block yet. I have as5 here, that I will use when bd comes out. Definitily, I will lap that block.

To the op
It's very easy to do the mod, just follow this guide.

I think I may end up doing the same thing as you. What reason did you give them? I know about their policy but I'm here in India where the RMA is handled by a third party company... So I might
need a valid reason.....
Plus - did you return only the unit or all the things supplied in the box?
