Have you made sure all the power connections and the cards are properly installed? I have no idea why this happens to you, but one thing it could be is your psu, from what I know 460's can take 630 watts in a system like that under load. One thing which I think is the most important to do, is check the cpu and gpu usage in the games using task manager, if cpu usage is high and gpu is low, then its a cpu bottleneck

I think peacepcf is on to something about your PSU being a little bit underpowered for an SLI 460 setup. Not to mention a quad core.

i have experienced ****in bottleneck way too many times and my psu was recommended because my cpu doesnt take nothing but 95 watts max and my gpu usage is pretty low but i havent checked my cpu usage but i will

Some games just don't like SLI...but those games are pretty few and far between now. Your PSU is definitely on the weak side though...whether or not it's enough to cause the issues you're describing is something I cannot say. You might be able to squeek by on a quality 600W, not entirely sure.

Try downclocking your 460s to reference stock, and watch GPU usage.
