In their latest press conference they state that Kepler will be 3-4 times the performance per watt than its predecessor Fermi, while Maxwell should be again 3-4 times faster than Kepler, thus making it 16 times faster than Fermi. And even if we don't know what they mean, who stinking cares! It's coming out soon and I want one! lol

Efficiency =/= performance, or at least not by default. The 460 beats the 480 on performance per watt, so...

It'll be 4x more efficient overall, chances of them going 2x more powerful with half the power draw are far more likely than going balls to the wall on power.

Now, if the Xbox 720/PS4 are going to use 7k/600 series graphics cards (extremely unlikely either will have something stronger than a 560, probably closer to a 460) then we might see them let loose on power because games will be designed with that level of power in mind.

Right but if the performance per watt is 3-4 times higher.... and they're using more watts than Fermi, shouldn't that mean the performance is going to be definitely 3-4 times Fermi architecture?
