What Unlocks? -> The "Unlockable" CPU reference list - Page 6

Bad news guys...I can not get any solid evidence to back some claims that the X4 980 can unlock to a X6. Hopefully some proof will show up, or if anyone can get a CPU-z shot or anything similar that would be great and you would be helping the forum out. Until then i'll keep searching for other "top secret" little chips that do amazing things.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuumpity
I'm going to engage into discussions about stickying this thread soon enough. For now, I'm going to celebrate father's day.

By the way, through a member on this forum there is now proof that the Phenom II x4 970 (at least one OEM variant of it - don't expect it from the retail boxed version) unlocks to a hexa-core!

*bump*
Was almost able to get an Athlon II x2 220 today inexpensively, but it sold while I was in between my home and the pickup location... thankfully I had other reasons to be there, coincidentally. Would've been a fun shot at unlocking on a proper mobo though

Looks like you were lucky and got one based on the Deneb die with the full L3 cache! Nice! (It can be Propus or Deneb)

I feel sorry for that poor pentium. I didn't know intel processors unlocked.

Some athlon x2 5200+ are native dual core regors. I found out the hard way... However ALL 5000+ are native quads
