Computer build

Thread Starter
This is probably in the wrong place, but I am going to be building a computer for the first time, and I would like someone to give suggestions/ check issues.
This is my build:
Antec DF-85 full tower case
GIGABYTE P67A-D3-B3 Intel 6 Series Motherboard
Apevia Warlock 750W PSU
XFX HD Radeon 6950
Asus DRW-22B2S/BLK/B/AS 22x Internal CD/DVD
Drive
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB PC12800 DDR3 RAM Dual Channel
Seagate ST31000524AS Barracuda Hard Drive 1TB 7200 RPM SATA III
Intel i5 2500K 3.3ghz unlocked CPU
ASUS VH197D 18.5" Widescreen HD LED 720p
Windows 7 Home Premium
ASUS PCE-N13 802.11 b/g/n Wireless PCI-Express Adapter

I might crossfire-x later
Thanks in advance

Not sure if your ram kit is 2x4GB or 4x2GB. 2x4GB is easier to overclock with.

Also, a 6950 is a lot of horses for a 720p monitor.

TBH using a 720p monitor with that GPU is like putting Bicycle tires on a Porsche.

If you're getting a new machine then a minimum of 1080 is what you want to be heading for.

Good luck with your build! cool.gif

What he said, get a new monitor, and consider an NZXT Phantom/HAF-X over the DF-85.

Psu I recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095&cm_re=seasonic_m12ii-_-17-151-095-_-Product

or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817116010&cm_re=hale90-_-17-116-010-_-Product when it's in stock.

Like everyone else said, get a different monitor for that baby! 1080 is where you want to be at especially if you plan to crossfire later on. I would also consider a different power supply and preferably a different case although that might just be me having had a lot of issues with Antec cases in the past.

Another monitor - 1080p. Like they say.
Another PSU - like this XFX 750W Black Edition. Awesome for the price !
Another case - I would also recommend the NZXT Phantom. It's definitely worth every penny.
And, at least, another HDD - Like the samsung F3 at 1TB. Bang for the buck.

I'm too lazy to find prices besides the awesome XFX 750W PSU, but those would be my recommendations by lot. Although the HDD isn't as important in this case.

Good luck.

I agree with this too. I would recomend looking at Acer's 23inch 1080p moniter. I used it in my sig rig its a great moniter for the money(150+s/h right now) game's and movies look pretty good, mine showed up with all working pixles has been fine for the last 5 months or so.

out side of that looks to be a great build out side of the over priced Antec Box(My opinion) best of luck!

EDIT: also drop the Seagate 1tb and get an F3 1 tb drive. Its epic and cheap. I used one in my sig rig and will be buying more F3's and F4's soon!
