Well to put it simple.

I really like my wireless set but the mouse isnt the best for gaming.

I use a device i plug into the USb to catch the signals.

Will it be possible to toss my POS wireless logitech mouse and upgrade to a solid gaming mouse?

The wave is really comftorable

Yes, you can plug in a different mouse and use the wireless keyboard.

Sweet. I thought so but really wanted to make sure.

What is a "good gaming" mouse running at these days?

I also think im going to throw down on a mousepad that has a wrist rest because i get this calleus mark on my wrist bone and that is never fun.

Also for cleaning the keyboard out anybody doing anything special?

I just used canned air and a clorox wipe when the pc is off.

Cleaning the keyboard like that is fine. For a deeper clean, you can take out your keys and wash them.
I'm looking forward to the Puretrak Valor, and a Razer Vespula would be nice for you.

Well I just purchased my first high end gaming keyboard and mouse set up.

The Razer Anansi keyboard and Razer Mamba mouse.

It's a sweet set up. Both very high quality components in my opinion.

I almost purchased a mechanical keyboard but after one day at home the loud noise of the clicking made me return it as it was very annoying for those around me.

I did some research on mice on this thread. I did my own homework on keyboards without posting but reading reviews and comparisons. The mouse has high DPI and with buttons right on top of mouse on-the-fly changeable. The Mamba has wired or wireless options and on the wireless still a high end gaming mouse.

If your looking for wired gaming mouse only at half the price might I suggest the Razer Imperator. All the same specs as the Mamb except it wireless.

The one thing I like aside from the quality is the back lit keyboard and lit up mouse scroll with lit up charging dock on my desktop and how it looks as a set. It completes a very nice gaming / 3D rig I own with side window panel tower. Couldn't be happier.
