[Slashdot]Nvidia gets away with bait and switch laptop replacements - Page 10

Because they didn't provide enough underfill on the eutectic ball mounts and they bump cracked off the mounts. The same way that all first run 8 series gpu's on desktop are preordained to become completely and utterly extinct. Only existing as re run products hastily made to replace failures and fill in for a history reminder of what was going to be an entire ghost product line.

Nvidia screwed up. It's rough that you have to play with dozens of other people in the laptop field and it's rough that they don't make more pcmia video cards and demand that they be kept off the mainboard. But that's additional manufacturing steps and costs. And it's becoming less and less of a tradition that corporations pay for mistakes other than symbolic wrist slaps. And yes I know 2 people who had this kill their laptops. And I have never owned a laptop or never will buy a laptop. Ever. It's simply asking you to drop and destroy a thousand dollars and it's an invitation to have it's metal powder battery burn down your house or place of business. Just like electric cars are an invitation to have your house burned down at 4 am while your asleep and they are charging.

Could the final nails in Nvidia's coffin, soon be hammered in by the wallets of its customers?
Do you have any proof? Or are you just a moronic fanboy spouting ignorance?

I'm going with a moronic fanboy.

A fan boy of what? Hating nvidia?

Just because you dislike one company DOES NOT mean that you are a fan of their competitor.

I bet if the judge was a victim of this he would not side with them... I would be mad if i got Downgraded due to them messing it up in the first place. Would be like me returning my 5850 and getting a 4770 back. It still works for playing games right?

Okay, so if the guy isn't a fan of nvidia, and not the fan of their competitors, which means either intel graphics chips (yah right) or ATI graphics chips. Then what is he a fan of?

Your argument is so flawed its hilarious.

Just because he isn't a fan of nvidia DOES NOT mean that he isn't a fan of a competitor.

So unless you have hard evidence, which something tells me if you did you would have used it already. Then your rebuttal is a waste of bandwidth.

Look, the reason why the objection failed is because the case had already ended when it had been filed.

If they had paid attention to what was going on rather then assuming, they probably would have gotten what they wanted.

It's a class action lawsuit. The intent is to punish the company, and make it easy for people to be reimbursed. Hence, it caters to the lowest common denominator.

If people want, they can revoke their rights as part of the class action and persue it as an individual, and get better compensation.

You are definitely right, Nvidia just happened to luckily stumble upon the single dumbest judge in the world. There's definitely no sign of pocket greasing there.

The only thing your argument has going for it, is that it is impossible to prove that the judge took a bribe.

Now the battle of, "Do I want pissed on drivers?" or "Do I want a card with good drivers, but they don't really give a damn for their customers?"

donotwant.mpeg2

Though, that said ATi AMD is making their drivers better now...
