You'd get better performance from 2 in blue and 2 in black

If you put 3 in blue (that would be triple channel) but the one in black would lose the dual channel boost which overall would be slower

2blue + 2 black > 3 blue + 1 black
Oh.. Now I understand it
Thanks a lot dude.

2 In Blue already present And 2 more sticks to add in black..

Dude,
I'm doing studying animation and for the starting work 4Gb and 6Gb is quite Ok.
So I've also done my beginner level with 4Gb ram but now I need 8Gb ram.

CravinR1 explained the way to get 8Gb ram with good performance.
That will be so useful for me

@ ALL
After adding 2 more sticks in black slots, Is there any way to check that its working fine or not. ??
I think checking once will be good then leaving it for risk.

Didn't know you were doing stuff that was RAM intensive. In that case buy as much as you need

My bad !!

I tried my best but even the huge market G-Skill (2gbx2) -1333Mhz- Ram not available.
But its available today.
So I'm gonna buy it today or tomorrow for sure.

Just wanted to confirm last time.
I'm doing what you guys directed me for, I hope it help me

Currently have 2 sticks in 2 of the blue slots (1 blue slot empty)
And I will add the 2 new sticks in 2 of the black slots (1 black slot will also remain empty)

That's the only thing.
Anything else ?

what I dont understand is why this guy is complaining about "not being able to enjoy the true power of i7" because of Dual channel / tri channel dilemma, when he has a crappy semi decent Graphics Card! Seriously a 5770 with a Rig with over 18Gb's of ram?

You already have a lot of Ram and you want to spend and get even more ram you dont need when you could be getting a Real graphics card. Stop wasting your time on the Ram and Dual and Tri channel BS.

Forget the ram man, Get a CPU cooler, OC that D0 CPU to 4Ghz like everyone else at OCN, then get a good graphics card, a few 6970s or a couple gtx580's. hell even one gtx480 would be enough

Nice that you took your time and checked what he wrote. There are people like me who work with theire PC. When i do a fluid dynamics simulation i don`t need a crappy 69700000 card. Even a ondie gpu would be enough.
He does animation and rendering these. This stuff is CPU intense BUT NOT GPU! There is no use for him in spending that much on a card that does only one thing : ideling.
There are several things when creating digital art where the gpu can help. (CUDA / OpenGL) but most of the work is mainly for CPU.
So GZ from me!
Only one thing you said is true - Get a cooler and O.C.!

oh man, I didn't read the part about animations ...yes, if you do renders you need the ram and cpu.. GPU wouldn't be the bigger deal, But in that case he could also invest on a nvidia quadro or a amd firepro or whatever they are called

Till now GPU isn't creating nay problem for me or any of my friend having 5770.

1yr back it was some $245 for a 5770 and now just $160.
That time i couldn't spend more than that for GPU. Limited Budget

I'm suffering with RAM problem now.

Yes, I'm also thinking to buy a CPU Cooler and Overclock too.

Check this out please :
HERE

Urgent please.
I Want to do all this before I waste all the money over roaming and party

I just have to add (like it has not already been said) it is the number of sticks that allow tripple channel operation (when all other qualifications have been met), it is the same RAM.Multiplies of 3 for tripple channel.
