I would say start off with finding out what the stock vid is on the chip. Run everything on stock and use either coretemp or cpu-z under load to get the correct value. Once you have established the stock vid I would then start increasing just the multi, you should be more than likely to get around 4ghz or above depending on your vid with stock voltages. test the multi each time by running blend for a few mintues. Until you get to the stage where the multi is causing you bsods then you can start by increasing the voltage by small bumbs. Use realtemp to read the temps and make sure you have the up to date versions (links can be found on the op in the sandy stable club thread in my sig)

Report back when you start experiencing problems.

Hope that helps.

OCgenie works. Although when it is overclocked to say 4ghz the voltage it sets for it is normally high than what it is needed. OC is way easier on SB so you will be fine even if you are new.

thanks for the tip, i see alot of users here have that very popular asus p8p67 pro or non pro version as their mobo, i cheaped out and got the MSI instead, 150cdn -20usd rebate

which comes around to 140usd final price

i think the asus pro regular ATX p8p67 was around 170 + taxes

I don't have any experience with the 53, but my GD65 is on par with the Asus.. Between these two boards (that retail for the same price) the only determining factor is is which color you prefer. Don't feel bad for going MSI, they are bada**.

Yeah MSI really picked up their stuff. I was about to get a bundle but opted for a asus P67 deluxe because funds allowed me too. MSI is fine for an average user and high end user.
