Couldn't agree more.

My choices for aircoolers were the Promilatech Megahalems or Noctua D14.
Then for sound levels, I was going leaning towards the H70... I was going to take off one of the stock fans on the radiator and use the Antec 120mm front fan and use that as a pull-push on the top fan... custom setup that seems to work with others...

I think I will start this overclocking this weekend and post up results. The profiles are definitely a good idea as I forgot my ASUS MB even had those...
I was thinking 20 BCLK and 200 QPI to set my ram at optimal speeds at 1600 mhz...
Keep in mind that the stock Corsair H70 fan and the Antec Tri-Cool run at different RPMs. This could kill one of your fans prematurely since they'll be forced to run faster than they were designed to.

Using 21 BCLK tends to lead to more stable overclocks. Not exactly sure why, but it's just something I've noticed. Don't worry too much about running RAM at 1600 MHz since you can set them at tighter timings instead. 21 x 200 will let you run RAM at rated specs.

The H70 with 2 AP-15s has proven to be worth the money. And they do run quiet! =)))

I belive he meant max potential with the current cooler.
To define "stable" would commonly be 24 hours of load.

Along those lines, when my system was stock and at about +70% load, it was loud like yours. With a OC from 3.2 to 4.0 and a push/pull H50, transcoding takes less time and it never gets to the "leaf blower" stage. I think you should should give it a try.

The fans are not linked to the H70 and will only run as fast as they were designed to run, or as slow as you want with a fan controller / speedfan, etc.

H70 will do a fine job keeping your PC cool, lots of people have them on 4.0+Ghz systems max loads are 60-70ish depending on your environment.

If a Fan A is pushing more air through the H70 than Fan B is pulling, Fan B will be forced to spin faster, leading to degradation of Fan B's motor.

I have read that the stock tri cool's on my case are better than the H70's... And it seems that air being pulled through the radiator faster than what the fan pushes can degrade, but I didn't think it would make THAT much of a pull difference especially through a radiator as everything is not completely linear with the airflow...
Either way I think I will stick with the H70 and use the stock case fan as it's already pulling and put it on full speed (which isn't loud to begin with and I love it)... And give you all results... I'll be happy with 60-70 ish...

It works both ways.
If the fan that is pulling is faster than the fan pushing, then the fan that is pushing will slowly be degrading. It's recommended to have identical fans on a push/pull set-up.

But if you're happy with it, who am I to argue?

Shall I just pick up another Tri Cool 120mm for an extra $20? I don't mind paying little extra to get things done the right way... Also I did read that having a BCLK at an odd number seems to work better so I believe you with 21 BCLK settings on the i7's...
