Hmmm.... there shouldn't be any packet overhead either, right?
Knowing comcast their data usage config is probably as sensitive as it can be to scare it's general users who aren't as network savvy into using less data. Although I'm not totally sure of what DDWRT constitutes as DATA for it's usage display either. Maybe they're not tracking something of the packet data, but that's a huge amount to be different.

DDWRT counts DATA as the amount of data being downloaded and uploaded, and I am pretty sure packet size is included in that graph too.

For instance, I downloaded a 7 GB file yesterday and a few small installation files for drivers (250 MB), however my graph usage on DDWRT says 8169. So, web traffic, IRC Traffic, and VPN traffic also counted towards that total.

What I would do is call them up, ask to speak to a floor supervisor, and tell them you are looking at your bandwidth and you see regular problems over the past three months with how their usage capacity is being recorded.

Sounds like what Bell Canada was doing, they wre billing people on "estimates" of their data usage, a lot of people were basically billed for data they never used. It went to court.

The difference is I'm not being charged extra for anything, just noticing a difference between 2 reports.

So far we've only proven it's different, not flawed. We don't know their data collection algorithms and configuration.

250gb cap... i wish... got fibe through bell canada.

65gb cap... i never reach it gaming 7 days a week, so idk how u can use 250gb.

i had a discrepancy on my last bill, router reported 59gb, thier total say 68.9gb.

called bell up, the tech took my router as correct and negated my overdraft charges

Well, having never had to deal with Comcast, I don't completely know their scenarios for data usage collecting. However, I would assume, (depending on your modem), that it just reports data usage from there, or it reports data usage either fro the local hub or drop point. In which case, if it is from the hub, then it could be severely wrong. One or the other is definitely flawed though, and I would trust DD-WRT over Comcast if I was in that situation.
