Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 discussion - Page 3

As per the OP question, The board is a great OC board it runs really cool. No really need for a NB sensor but I hear ya would be nice though.
My main complaint is that your GPU has to be in the bottom PCI-E slot (stupid) in a mid tower that leaves the GPU with an inch of space between the fan and bottom of case. Poor design.

Positive though it supports "Bulldozer"!!!

Taking them to small claims court would probably cost more than the board is worth if you ask me. I would probably send your local attorney general over for a visit first, that usually does the trick.

It realy doesnt matter what was wrong with your mobo-if you brought it in to be checked out and they damaged it in any way-they have to take care of it period.
And i highly dout small claims is needed. A couple phone calls to the right people will prob do it, att. general, better buissnes, and find wich office in your local court house handles all buissnes lisences.

I had this board before I switch to Intel and it is an excellent board. I really have no complaints about it performance wise as it always did what I needed it to do. It also overclocked like a champ, over time I run 3 different AMD CPU's in it and they all ran smooth up to 3.9 GHz (CPU's were crap and refused to go any higher). I still have it actually, been trying to sell it on other sites (don't have enough reps here to sell yet) and so far it hasn't sold yet.

I too have this board. I had one problem with it : - basically the first board was faulty but after a week I received my new one and I am now running a AMD Phenom II x6 1100T BE at over 4.0ghz Speeds, 4 x 2gb Corsair '1333mhz' Ram OC at '2196mhz!' and yes I find the 890 Chipset has awesome potential, my ASUS EAH5970 Gfx on the 2nd Slot runs every game at max settings. I run ASUS PC Probe II and it monitors everything, overall I give this board a 9.5/10.

I called their head office and the only "manager" I can file a complaint with is their human resources manager which is idiotic and I was informed that the only person who can resolve my complaint is the regional manager who is "on the road" and because of some privacy act (bs I know) she cannot give me their name or phone number to contact them as well as the company's president/owners name or phone number.

Its the fact that their head office is still unwilling to do anything that is forcing me to take such action.

Back to the topic at hand, the board seemed extremely solid although mine seemed warped from the start, and for the time it was running, it was extremely great and the mobo temp itself never got above 28 Celsius (ambient would be around 18-20 [my house is about 21 Celsius at all times and my basement is usually 2-5 degrees cooler] Celsius and the mobo was usually around 26 Celsius from start up) under stock load with minimal airflow.

If you don't mind posting the company's name here, I'm pretty good at digging up corporate numbers.

Yea I have been enjoying this board for over a year now. Great overclocker. I was able to run 348fsb x 11.5 (4GHz). Going to try going for that again to see what she benches as. My only gripe with the board is the Q-Fan function. My CPU fans are 3-pin so I gotta run em as DC type. Only issue is the lowest you can go on DC is 50% so they are still loud. I now I just have em run 100% and use speedfan in Windows to control them.

Canada Computers. If you do find any numbers, just pm them to me since this I have kinda derailed this thread now...

It seems like my problem is an isolated incident, specially since there have been no other gripes with this motherboard. Also, you have to take my story with a grain of salt since someone else damaged my motherboard before ASUS was able to deal with my problem.

Like others have noted, for $150 this board is pretty good and if it supports BD then it could be worth the investment.
