Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 discussion - Page 4

Legitimation... Privacy act or not, call the corporate back up and tell them to call the person who you're suppose to file a claim with asap as this is a time sensative matter.

Then have that person call you to resolve the matter, if they're any type of reputable company they will do this, also record your conversations with them & let the other party know you're doing this also.
I would tell them you expect a call in 24-48 hrs, that's ample time for them to call you & do their job.

I have called them and they still refuse. I got a call from an employee at the store that voided my warranty and told me that their head office will only refund half of the price. I am calling tonight after school and demanding that I get the number of their regional manager, if not I am going to spend 8+ hours at the store tomorrow demanding the number of their regional manager, I will also tell their customers the service I received there to warn them from buying anything from the store.

I could but the damage caused by the employee is extremely noticeable and its apparent it was caused by someone. I doubt any store will give me a refund fora board in its condition and I believe that the employee must be punished in someway because just imagine how many people he has done this to before, people who are not as strong willed as myself? I believe that the only reason why they are delaying doing anything is so that I will give up and accept one of their proposals that are unfair and result in me paying for the mistake the employee made so that I cannot take further action.

The only reason why I am continuing on with this is because of the way the company and its employees have handled the situation. They will not address why the employee voided the manufacturers warranty and they will not put me in touch with anyone who has the power to give me any type of resolution with my problem. Why are they unwilling to do such a thing if their employee did nothing wrong?

TL: DR -- This is a matter of principle and this not how a problem such as this, should be handled by a company, by pawning the problem off on other people whether it be me (the customer) or another store (by purchasing another one at a store and returning it).

-New development - I've been lied to and no one has contacted the regional manager because he is on vacation. No one at their head office was able to give me the guys contact information or even find it but the online support number was able to get his name and number but because he was on vacation and did not have information on when he was coming back, they took my name and number for him to contact me when he gets back.

Thread Starter
I didn't realize this thread was alive lol.
I also love the board, but I've been having problems though I think it's my RAM.
I can't overclock my RAM by even a bit, or well slightly, but when I increase the NB/CPU by even 1 notch it becomes unstable... Is it just my ram that is crap?
I got the OCZ Gold series ram, total crap I guess?

As for Legitimation, sorry to hear your board was bad, and the hassle you are in, just don't give up to ******* like that.
My first board was faulty too, the ram slots were broken.
I went to the shop, said it was broken, he asked if I was sure and I said yeah. And I got a brand new board right away

I guess Canada doesn't have a BBB. What I always do is tell them to give me a refund or I'll report them to the BBB. If that doesn't work, I dispute the charge on my Credit Card. If that doesn't work, I suck up the loss and write review on Yelp of their poor business model and never give them any money again.

I just realized, why are we even talking about this issue on this thread? It seems way off topic and deserves it's own thread "Canada Computers Discussion".

BTW, I just purchased this board and am really excited about it. (I got this with a Phenom x4 840 for $200! ) The GPU x16 issue is really anoying and a dumb design. Especially when you are also running a wireless NIC card that reduces the GPU clearance. Everything else is money. I haven't been able to test it out yet, but will do so once I get my Xigmatek Mount (so I can vertical mount it). I really like the cooling on this board (heatsinks are large). It will support BD CPUs (which is one of the driving reasons I bought it). 8x, 8x Crossfire (and SLI w/hack). I do see that it would be difficult to mount many large CPU towers without any special adapters due to the size and placement of the Mosfet Heatsink. The only other thing I wish it had was a USB3 header. But, regardless, it is a great MOBO, and it should overclock much better than my previous board.

To run it at x16, yes. Otherwise it runs at 8x.

I have already told my story to like 20 people I know and they will never set foot in any of those stores ever again. When I told their HR manager I was reporting them to the BBB she literally laughed which isn't good news since their mark with the BBB is an F. I would also dispute the charge on my mothers credit card but I bought a Venomous X RT and my NZXT M59 case at the same time so disputing the charge would mean I would have to return all of those items...

Don't have it long, looks good so far though (performance-wise) ..the physical design of the board is quite spasticated though, eg: bottom pcie slot is the main one = bad air flow for the gpu, SB and cmos battery + jumper reset is UNDER the gpu, so when i've to reset the cmos i've to bloody take out the gpu everytime lol, and the cpu 12v inputs are way too high next to the exhaust fan output, i'll be lucky as hell if i can fit the antec kuhler 920 i ordered in.
