I don't see how anything could be incompatible. 900 series supports SLI and BD will be able to run RAM that fast great hard drives by the way

Thanks man. I just upgraded to the C300. I had the vRaptor from a past build. Its great for games. The 2TB drives are for my music and movies. My computer also acts as a media server for the 2 HTPC's in my house.

On another note. For a resolution of 5670x1200, should I do 580 3GB's in SLI or Tri-Fire 6970's?

Looks solid, Im waiting for BD to come out also, cant wait! Luckily alot of AM3+ boards will support sli without a hack needed.

6970 because crossfire scaling is better

But its not just scaling im worried about. A resolution of 5670x1200 is huge. Im thinking that the lost of 1Gb of vRam is going to hurt my performance.

+Rep to xd for the look over.

IMO if you're going to be building a game centered PC with a high budget, which 2x 580s would indicate, why would you put a second class (/budget) CPU brand in like AMD? With watercooling SB will OC up to 4.8+ghz and simply rape anything AMD has in a clock-clock comparison.

AMD is not second class bro. No one knows anything about Bulldozer yet. If Bulldozer is a flop than of course I would do Intel, but I have to wait and see. If you are going to just troll my main post you can leave.
My intent is not to troll, hell my desktop IS AMD. But any AMD owner should and will easily admit that in terms of sheer performance, Intel wins hands down. The chances of AMD coming out with something that will beat even Intel's previous gen offerings is slim nil when so much separation currently exists in capabilities and R&D. To quote a friend who has worked at Intel and AMD - "there's just a hyper focus on efficiency per clock cycle vs. AMD where everything is chaotic and disorganized".

Anyways my point is that holding out for AMDs solution is a set up for disappointment. But other than that I agree with your parts loadout. Myself I'm more a fan of nvidia gear than ATI even though they trade blows in a lot of segments. CUDA and a more polished driver set mainly tip the scales. So 580 vs 5970, I give 580 my blessings.

EDIT: Of course Bulldozer coming out will likely decrease some Intel pricing, so perhaps holding off could be advantageous if you want to save a few bucks. Forgot about that bit
