Either not optimized or Deus Ex will have astounding graphics.
(DuckieHo, to me optimized means it takes full advantage of the hardware it is running on)

There not pushing hardware though, Its just a excuse to slack off on the PC version.

Gamers want games to push their gear, in a visually noticeable way (like crysis). What isn't good for for games to run slowly due to poor implementation. Since it's not out yet, it's hard to tell what the case is, but I'm not sure this bodes well, the screen shots don't look like they justify the hardware burden.

deus ex is by no means a smaller game.

The first one was an amazing experience and one that hasnt been replicated in any other game since then.

Agreed I was blown away after playing the first game. The customization and storyline were great. Graphics were great for the time too.

When they say "recommended", they're generally aiming for medium settings with no frill (AA). Nobody nowadays wants to play anything like that. Everyone wants 1920 4x AA.
I'm sure this game will let you "push" your card with those settings.

As for me, I like playing newer games on an older card without stutter.

I'm pretty certain the Hd 5850 will have no problem maxing this game with some AA.

It's not a slow card by any means.

Proof? You have no idea what they're doing to implement their graphical engine, what it will take, and how it will utilize the tech. It could be one of the best performing games out there. You won't know til it's released.
