Real easy way to clean keyboard

Thread Starter
To clean my keyboard, I pop all the buttons out and put them in a ice cream container with hot water and some dish soap/general purpose cleaner.

Then just let it sit for awhile, and then mix it all around, rinse.

Unscrew the case and clean the top half too.

Then to dry the buttons, I just put some in a sock, and spin it really quick. It really flings the water out, dry enough to put them back right away for the most part.

Clean that puke out of the keyboard, or just degrease the keys, doesn't take long at all...

I put a metal screen in my blender, filled it with cleaning fluid and water and put my buttons in there, took all of 4 seconds for them to get clean. (i don't recommend it thought, you might mess up)

for the board itself, i used ethyl alcohol and just immersed the entire assembly and rubbed it down

Yes they do. They are bit stiff on and might pop in the air but they won't get damaged.

I use a house vacuum hose with a brush attach to the nozzle. Give it a clean swipe left to right and voila....dust free keyboard....but have to wipe the buttons with a damp cloth.

I generally wash my hands, so I don't have to clean the keys. What are you people doing while sitting at your computers???......oh wait......

Dang you must have a really clean keyboard! I usually wipe my keyboard with rubbing alcohol once a week or so. And refrain from eating around it, so no cumblys get in it.
