How's that helpful to someone who's already got two GTX 580's? Maybe you misread, he wasn't asking which cards to get but how to cool the ones he's already vested in.

Plus your wrong, two AMD 6970's crossfire, even though AMD might scale better, still dosen't come close to GTX 580's SLI.

Yes, I do know of a VGA cooler that fits on the GTX580:

the one in my sig rig. Just like Behemoth777 said. An Arctic Cooling Accelero Extreme Plus. Make sure to buy it with the VR004 mouting kit.

I don't know about the GTX580 temps with one, but the GTX480 shouldn't be too far off:

35.º C Idle
61.º C Load

posted more in the other thread. Only get beat out by a couple frames, and cost way less, and in other games they tie or beat the 580s.

Again, maybe you missed the fact he already owns the 580's and is looking on his cooling solution. Posting old benchmarks on performance has nothing to do with the OP gpu temp problem.

I deleted my rebuttle with benchmarks on this thread since it didn't have anything to do with the OP question on his gpu temps.

I didn't read through the whole thread, so please excuse my ignorance if this has already been suggested.

Installing a high-flow bracket and backplate to your EVGA GTX 580 would help your temperatures a bit.
It won't be anything dramatic, but it's better than having to purchase an entire water cooling loop.

Two EVGA's in SLI stock, top card gets around 88c and bottom is 81c after some Crysis/3dMark... Having just one maxed at 80c. Your temps are good! Within the right temps! I thought about spacing them but with my case/motherboard setup, I cannot because the third PCI-X slot will block my venting slot on the card which I may as well burn or throw the videocard away...
I love the GTX 580's in SLI... simply the fastest dual GPU setup available now... period... I love it when people post up exagerated benchmarks that have nothing to do with the original post. By exagerated I mean the one game where AMD comes close at the highest resolution...

enjoy your setup!
