Can't Install Any OS

Thread Starter
I bought a new computer like 10 days ago. I installed Windows 7 64-bit on it and it was functioning perfectly for 2 days, and then i started getting BSOD. First I started getting them randomly between 2-4 hrs. They day after that when I turned my computer on I was lucky if the computer was on for 5 minutes without a BSOD, so I thought I'd format the HDD and install the OS from scratch. I formatted the comp through my Win7 Bootable USB stick, and when I tried reinstalling it I either got an error message saying something about bad memory or a BSOD with something about a bad_pool_header. I also tried installing Ubuntu from a bootable USB stick but failed, got an error message about bad memory.
I just now updated my BIOS from 1702 to 2001 and im still having the same problem.
I thought my RAM's might be causing this, but I could successfully run Ubuntu straight from the USB without installing it, which means my RAM is working if im not mistaken.

I have no idea what to do to make this computer function since every solution I find on the internet tells me what to do with Win7 installed.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what might be causing my problem?

Use your cd instead of usb.

I usually dont install using usb.

Once your have it installed, install all your correct chipset drivers.

I think your bsod problem the first time was due to lack of drivers if you did a fresh install of windows and didnt bother to install drivers of the chipset.

Well, it still sounds like a memory issue. If you have a few spare sticks try poppin those in. If not RMA the RAM back to newegg and get a different pair.

I dont think a CD will help and i did install drivers when the comp worked. I installed drivers straight from the manufacturer websites and made sure they were up to date.

Dont know the error codes of the BSOD i got when the computer was up and running, it just flashed for like 2 secs and at the bottom it had something like "dumping physical memory" and then the comp shut down.

Unfortunately i dont have any other RAM's to try, but my friend has the same motherboard and RAM's as me and his comp is working fine.

And i have tried manually setting my timings to 9-9-9-24 and voltage to 1.5 all the way up to 1.65

Did you try to boot in safe mode?A long shot I guess. As far as a MB problem if a chip is bad or something then there is no way to fix it and you will have to return the MB for another one.
