Abit IN9 32X MAX issue, need dire help.

Thread Starter
Hey, I just recently got a Abit IN9 32X MAX Lga775 mobo used from Lunchbox, along with other parts(Sig rig) Everything powers up alright and all the indicator LEDS on everything are green. Once it begins to post I get the error code 9.0, indicating a bios issue or a psu issue. Both of them concern me as the cpu I'm using is 45nm, and the bios version 14 supports 45nm cpu's. I have the feeling that my bios is at 10. Along with the fact that I'm running two psu's, one for the 9800GTX+ and one for everything else, I have linked the ground and one positive from the 12v rails so they both power on at the same time. The problem is the master psu is only 20 pin, where the mobo has a 24pin connector, the cpu has a 4-pin and I have the ATX4P1 molex connector attactched asewll.

So in TLDR, I need either a way to flash the bios without getting a new cpu, or getting a 55nm LGA775 cpu locally from somone near Cambridge, Ontario to borrow to atleast get my desktop working, as it's horrible to have two rigs both out of commition.

if I recall the old BIOS would just run a 45nm cpu at half the speed
if you do flash the bios use this one

http://nf7sextreme.lvcoyote.com/M622A_15.B05.zip
it's newer then the one on abit's site

Well if that is the case then it's a psu issue, that would be a little easier to solve. Thanks for the input, I'd really like to be able to fix this.

Yup, I'm looking throught the mobo's PDF manual and they do say that a 20pin will work for it, but there is a possibility of it not being able to post. I still have a solid feeling that I need a 55nm cpu to flash the bios to verison 14, I just cant believe after searching and preparing for this so much I still ran into a major problem.

I'm using two since my orion 400w is not enough to run everything, along with there is not enough 4 pin molexs to run the 2 6-pin adapters that I need(4 molex cables total) So if you had the bios at 14 or above, this definatly could be a psu issues, meaning I'm going to have to pick up a Corsair 430CXV2.

Got an update, bought a Thermaltake TR2 430w psu, hopefully this will be it since Lunchbox said the bios is on the latest revision, version 15. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions for what I should do please tell me!

Also, BUMP!

Update, unfortunately the ThermalTake TR2 430w did not fix it. I have gone through many configurations of Ram in single channel mode, running in 1&4, and 3&4, and 1&2, along with all the dual channel configurations, still 9.0. Ran it with the 9800GTX+ and without during those tests and still 9.0 error, after searching around it all points to the boards BIOS chip being dead, so I'm looking into getting a GIGABYTE GA-G41-Combo since I'm already far into this mess, might as well finish it, hopefully lunchbox and I can work out something.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone.

Bump and yet another update. I've got a Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo now, I've done quite a bit of research making sure the bios will support 45nm cpus, the fsb support, ram and gpu support and common issues and I feel very confident in this board to being the best I can get for this build. I'm beginning prep now to set everything up on my tech bench, and if anyone has any last minute things to remind me of, or tell me I'd appreciate it, I have taken care of grounding by the way. I'm just going to leave my test psu plugged in and I'll touch my foot to it when working.
