Yeah... It does. I can go to my friend's house to play and patch but... I don't think it's worth it. What kind of ISP is a LOS network? I've never heard of it.

Get an Android phone on Verizon (with the nice unlimited data), root it, and use Wireless Tether (free on the market) so that your PC can use the data for free. When I tethered to my Droid, I was getting 350ms latency to WoW (compared to 130ms on Comcrap). Borderline for raiding, but perfectly playable for most things.

P.S. You'll get a lot farther with your parents if you offer to pay for it.

This....I travel for work and can play perfectly fine as long as I'm not raiding. I have my phone rooted and use a ton of data, nobody cares anymore. I can get ping times from 300-500ms...but way better than the 3-4 seconds you're seeing.

Make sure Verizon has good service in your area and tether it up.

You're just gonna have to live with it to be honest. I've had satellite internet for about 3-4 years then last year we were finally able to receive Verizon DSL. Advice, keep calling ISP's and wait it out... maybe something will happen in your favor. That, or you'll have to wait until you get your own place. I was in denial and actually resorted to playing WoW on dial-up to lvl and things... then I would go to a friends a few miles away that had cable(go figure...) and raid the top raid dungeons for the current expansion. Crazy thing is, when I eventually did get DSL I quit WoW altogether... lol.

LOS stands for line of sight. A guy put an antenna of some sort on a radio tower and charges obnoxious rates to rent these things that I could best describe as a dish on your house and then charges obnoxious rates for severely capped service. Connection speed is pretty damn good except during peak hours, but the 8 gig a month limit blows. If you can see any sort of radio tower from your house look into it. If no one is doing it you might even look into providing it yourself. The guy has to be making a fortune, since basically everyone that lives around us who wants something besides 56k pays him a lot for it.

Even in the middle of australia you can still get 1.5megabit 100gb a month for fairly cheap...

I've looked into that; I know someone who runs a similar service not far north of here. You can be sure he's paying a fortune for his connectivity, too.

The problem is, much of the US has the population density of the outback. (Mostly without the desert...) It's hard to get good network connectivity when you're ten miles from anything.

3-4 seconds in raids is ridiculous. Getting mail from the auction house takes about 10x longer than it should.

I've "ordered" DSL from Comcast at least 4 times now, and every time they say "this area is not serviceable". Their website begs to differ however. I've pointed this out on more than one occasion.

Oh trust me, I'm gonna HAVE to pay for it. ($45 a month for a 14-year old to play WoW/LoL... Jesus Christ...)

I forgot to ask my major question...

So, I heard that as long as you don't go over 2GB while using a non-VZW approved program, they wont come and bother you. How much data are you talking about, because this seems like a great option if it's "unlimited data", or something close to it.
