Nexus S. Better to get software support straight from google than Samsung or the carrier.

Either way they are both pretty much the same phones.

Pretty much, aren't the only differences the lack of SD card slot in the nexus, and the nexus having an unlocked bootloader and an ASOP rom stock?

The Nexus S has some features over the Galaxy S, such as NFC. It also lacks some things, such as a microSD slot, so you're stuck with the 16GB.

Actually the Nexus S is made by Samsung, its not very different from its Galaxy S cousin.

If you like the idea of having a phone with Android the way Google meant it to be (ie not altered by the carriers/device makers, which means less bloat and fluff) get the Nexus S. Also if you are interested in modding, installing custom ROMs, Kernals, and overclocking the Nexus line is the way to go.
