Demand for cheap mountain mods cases

Thread Starter
EDIT:
I have been looking at well essentially designing some large mountainmod cases like this but better.

This is not a ripoff attempt this is a redesigning of a case with inspiration from the mountain mods series. I will try to take the best features of many cases along with other improvements to produce a new perfect case by todays standards to the exact specification of the community / what we all want. Mainly focusing on being all encompassing and as flexible as possible for the most differing configurations.

And having them manufactured in china and imported.

The problem I have is... how do I gauge demand and how do I figure out how many to order. So please let me know if you would be seriously interested in buying one and any questions or help.

Expected price range $200 - $250

I would be interested in this.. I would honestly need some more details. I would want something very similar to a Mountain Mods style but smaller.

By the time you pay import tax and brokerage fees, deal with shoddy manufacturers who give you good samples but bad product, you might as well buy a Case Labs case and call it a day.

I'm very close to a professional who manufactures and imports from china so I have that end covered. I am having him get a quote from one of his factories but my problem is price depends greatly on quantity which is why i'm researching it. And only 1 type of case would be manufactured. the one that is the most appropriate for the most people. Probably like the one in the picture.

it's really hard to gauge, especially without knowing the quality/pricing before hand

if you can get a price point around $200-250, you might have a market, but they'll have to be of similar quality to mountain mod cases

Well if the mountainmods version costs $470 I think you would have an amazing market at anywhere near $200 that's nearly 60% off

I think the craftsmanship will be what people are willing to pay for. If people want to pay cheap they'll get a cheap product all i'm trying to do is undercut the middle man because I think the mountain mods cases are overpriced.

Keep in mind I don't really care if this happens or not I won't be getting one of these cases for myself as i'm building mine into my new desk but I thought it would be a good learning experience.

yea but it lacks the options of mountain mods, which is where most of their sales come from

would it be more like a ufo or an ascension?
since the ufo is only $300, the extended edition is $370
and the ascension is $370, the extended edition is $420

if you make it like an extended ascension and have hptx support/backwards compatibility with xl atx and other standard atx style formfactors, out of the box, and have it priced about $250 and of decent quality, it'd sell pretty decently to the niche market

Yeh well I was thinking of a big enough one that it is worth getting a mountain mod and probably do a poll for the popularity on finishes and colours. I'm guessing a powder coat black with clear windows but polls will tell if we get that far
