Honestly, it's all the same crap.
The TIM itself doesn't matter so much as the actual application does.

I would argue that the material the TIM is made out of means more than the application up to a certain point. Too much TIM is obviously a terrible thing.

I do agree that everyone over-exaggerates the difference it can make, though.

Agreed, mostly. Amongst the top TIMs being thrown around the difference is minimal, usual within a degree or two. But there are lots of TIMs out there that are not good at all.

anyone had an experience where after changing TIM, overall heat coming from comp got hotter? changed my TIM to antec diamond 7 and the heatsink seems much hotter to touch than it was previously. my case also seems to be emitting hotter air than before.
