Headset

Thread Starter

This is what I'm thinking of using for a headset. I'm wanting something with good/decent quality. I have already purchased the headphones so they are a go, but the mic and adapter are still depending on responses.

JVC HARX700- Recommend in another thread, got them today sound decent with poor base.

Zalman Mic

PS3 adapter

I'm open to suggestions and want opinions.

those headphones are actually known for their bass, when you mention poor do you mean lack of, or the bass is just muddy?

anyways zalman mic is always recommended,

so overall decent setup, cant go wrong with it.

Sigh, I hate people thinking that HUGE BASS IS EVERYTHING!@!!111!!!!!!!!!

The truth is music is more than just the bass AND if the producer and artist intended it to sound that way, they would of done that. Just listen to pure bass tones all day, easy to find them if that's what you want cuz that's basically what you want.

I love bass. I just heavily dislike people who think music = bass and nothing else. I love detailed, crisp, tight, deep bass with basslines etc...

Not guided towards the OP, but more of a rant.

The RX700's are bass emphasised.....

Quality of bass > quantity of bass (although you can have both, but not in the cheap price ranges)
deep real sub-bass > blaoted mid-bass.

If it doesn't physically shake you or affect you, it isn't sub bass pure and simple. Sub bass will affect you every single time, no matter how much reverb / decay or the duration of that tone. Another pet hate is people mistaking lots of mid-bass for 'sub-bass'.

I agree with you, unfortunately most people think that way.

This whole "bass is better" is why Beats are so popular.
Even though i am a bit of a abass head, I`ll concede this.

Partly. I argue more than it's the image and materialism of 'fitting in' is to blame more.

This is what I want to know. If you mean muddy, then please ignore the rants above. If you mean lack of bass, then still don't take them over-seriously. There's a rant section for rants.

Hmm...in that case, it's just you. I have a pair of 700s and think they sound fine on bass. If it doesn't bother you too much, don't worry about it.

What are you going to be listening through (receiver, etc)?
On a microphone, I have the Zalman and have no complaints.
