How Big of an Issue is Heat w/ 2x 5870's?

I had never considered this until I surveyed my case to make sure it is ready for two 5870's, but there isn't going to be much room in between them. They would both be the stock design and on my motherboard the PCI express slots only have 1 PCI slot in between them, so the top one will be sucking air right off of the lower one.
I have an antec 300 and my airflow is great.
Is this much of an issue for most people? I have one running at 100% at 50% fan speed at 77C right now (heavily overclocked). What would I expect if I slapped another one in?

Good in store deal at Fry's atm, so that's why I'm curious.

You would still have one slot between them. It is not too bad. It was 4-5 C hotter at load when I had 5870 CF on mine.

It is only a real problem if you have them right next to each other (~2mm). That would make the top card 10-13 C hotter at load.

Well each 5870 takes up two slots with the stock cooler. Forgot to mention that.

Wish I had 2 slots, but I think I can handle 10C hotter probably... Being at 80C gives me a bit of room to grow.

^ Don't you have the P5Q Pro?

You will have 1 slot of space in between the two cards (white x1 PCI-e slot above the black x16 PCI-e slot).

Great detective work and effort man (no sarcasm there, being sincere lol), but that system is out of date I have an X58 Gigabyte board. So they only decided to give me one spot in between

I see now. You never mentioned anything about a Gigabyte board in the OP.

Well the best you can do is push the top card up a little bit and let the bottom card sag down a bit. That way you can give the top card's fan have a little more breathing room.

Yeah, there always is a little bit of wiggle room. Luckily the top card has a good air supply as well.
