Running four high-end GPUs is fairly pointless on a single monitor.

hope this helps u
Thanks for your reply, and yeah 4 cards would be a big problem for me, i just have space for 2 cards, i have a sound card, an ocz revodrive x2, a killer 2100 card and the 2 16x pci e available for the graphic cards

But it's your money, who am I to tell you what to do with it. Go with dual 6990s if it will make you happy and you want the greatest performance you can get.
And also make sure you have a 120Hz monitor to play on.

Are watercooling them, on the linus review of SLI 590s vs Crossfire 6990s the 6990s were so loud together because they were suffocating and having to ramp there fans up to get the temps needs also squeezing all that air in between a 1/2 CM gap is hard for the card.

Then it would probably be wise to wait on buying two 6990s. 1.) They won't be doing any good driving only one display, while using more power and producing a lot of extra heat and 2.) they will be cheaper and/or there will be something faster in 6 months

If you have yet to actually receive the cards, you can refuse the package and reorder just a single card. Order a second 6990 when you have the three monitors.
