Alfa AWUS036H 1000mW 1W 802.11b/g High Gain USB Wireless Long-Range WiFi Network Adapter with 5dBi Antenna on sale for $19.98 @ DailySteals:

This is basically the strongest wireless adapter you can get for the money. The high power 1000mW can increase the receive signal range and the dBi antenna can increase the signal strength. So if you are looking for a device to connect to an indoor / outdoor wireless signal and you are having issues with your onboard or standard Linksys, D-Link, etc. adapter, this is your perfect solution.

Yea, I have a friend who's really into BackTrack. I wish I had the time to mess with it. It's powerful stuff.

Would picking up one of these and throwing the antenna on the current router be viable? Our house has a lot of walls and the router is placed upstairs in one corner of the house. Looking to increase the signal for people connecting on the opposite side of the house. Seems like getting 2 of these would be overkill, but at that price it might be worth it.

You'd have to make sure that the antenna is compatible with your current router.
The problem is, there is like 30 different antenna connectors...
Okay, not 30. But seriously. Like 10-15.

It's down to $14.99 now. I would grab one if it were N capable and/or compatible with my WD TV Live HD players. But it's not frown.gif
